Walmart Connect is pleased to announce the launch of advanced second-price auction for Walmart Sponsored Products advertising.

We’ve also added new ad placements and a new optimization tool to help you get even more out of your campaigns.  

About advanced second-price auction
Combined with our recent search-relevancy enhancements, advanced second-price auction helps reduce your risk of overpaying for cost-per-click bids, giving you the confidence to bid your best and putting Walmart advertising within reach for budgets of all sizes.

In this model, the most relevant product wins the auction. The winner pays the amount necessary to win based on relevant competing bids, which may be less than the winner’s maximum bid.
 
New Sponsored Products placements
In the coming weeks, ads will begin to serve in in-grid placements 1, 2, 3 and 4. For the rest of the search grid, two ads will continue to appear for every 10 results. 

New campaign-optimization tool
Item recommendations identify unadvertised items with the potential to perform well in a campaign.
